Morrison & Foerster
Offers a phase-back program for new moms.
This San Francisco–based international law firm recently hired its first full-time professional development and diversity manager to enhance its programs to retain and promote women—but this isn’t unfamiliar territory. Its reduced-hours policy, updated in 2008, now lets all attorneys return to work on a reduced hours schedule for as long as a year following maternity, paternity or adoption leave. (Attorneys can then request to continue their reduced hours schedule, and many do.) Last year, 25 partners worked reduced hours, including 16 women.
