Easier A.M.
Even if we’re running late, I strive for a relaxed and positive attitude, because I know that a difficult drop-off with my daughters will stick with me all day. My husband, Dogan, also works at NASA. We take turns with the a.m. shift, depending on who has the tougher workday. So usually it’s one of us packing lunches, helping Sophie and Lauren dress and getting breakfast ready. The girls are usually cheerful. The little one doesn’t appreciate the time crunch, however, so I get up and shower at 6:30, they get up around 7:30, and we’re out the door and off to preschool by 8:30.
