Your kids throw a collective “I don’t want to get up!” tantrum, putting you in a bad mood. To release your steam and offset morning mishaps:

Find the light. Stand in a sunny spot in your home for just a few moments to absorb the brightness and warmth. Sunlight is a natural mood elevator.

Shake it off—literally. Walk briskly up and down the stairs and around the house, and twist your body as you reach down or up. Your brain will get the better-mood message.

Put on a smile.
You may not feel like it, but the act of smiling actually makes you—and those around you—feel better. Your kids will instinctively reflect back what they see.
