Lowenstein Sandler
Offers a formal flextime program for both associates & counsel.
Flexibility takes many forms at this Roseland, NJ–based firm, which hired an administrative coordinator last year to assist lawyers interested in alternative work arrangements. Lawyers can opt for reduced hours, compressed workweeks or telecommuting—and in 2008, 43% of attorneys returning from maternity leave phased back on a reduced-hours schedule, up from 17% in 2007. Reduced-hours lawyers are eligible for equity partnership at a delayed pro rata rate and can continue to work the same schedule after they’re elevated. The firm also offers leadership training, and last year half of those who participated were women.
