"Kakie's Write" Why do I blog?

Posted on December 13, 2007

The other day, someone posed a question to me. "Why do you blog?" I thought that was interesting and reminded me there are still so many people out there that don't understand what blogging is, why people do it or what is the pupose of blogging whether it is for business or personal reasons (or both). This was my response:

I blog because I am passionate about being a mom and making a difference in the lives of others. I know from experience that something I write may have a profound affect for another person and that can be satisfying.

I write because we all have stories to tell and I think we should share them. I write because we all are imperfect people who can learn from our challenges and obstacles.  Sometimes we need to be reminded about the things we already know, but need to hear again from a different source. Writing provides an outlet to that for me.

I also blog as part of my business (I write children's books). The books educate kids about sports and outdoor exploration through a group of multicultural characters. So many of the themes in our blog center around parenting, sports and activity. My hope is to eventually have more about diversity as well.
