Everything you need for your kid’s Halloween costume is right in your own home. The best part? No sewing— and your child can make it with you.
Ro-Box
Cut head and arm openings in a large box that can cover your child’s body comfortably. Find a smaller box for his head and cut a face opening. Spray-paint it all silver, and glue on whatever doodads you can find lying around.
Take Flight
Angels and fairies are old news; this year, go dragonfly. Bend some wire into stylish wing shapes and twist around a wooden pencil for the spine. Tape cellophane onto the wire frame, then use looped elastic for straps.
Bunny Hop
Cut out rabbit ears from stiff colored paper and glue to a headband, a satin ribbon or a gartered baby’s headpiece. Glue cotton balls together to form a fluffy tail to pin on a leotard. Draw big bunny teeth, a pink nose and whiskers on her face. Have her carry a big carrot!
