Favorite Characters

Merry Christmas Curious George

Curious George can’t wait to help his best friend, the Man with the Yellow Hat, pick out a holiday tree. Amid all the excitement, George finds himself atop his favorite tree and is accidentally delivered to the local children’s hospital where his tree trimming antics cheer the children and he meets a jolly man in a bright red suit ($9, amazon.com).

Charlie Brown’s Christmas Stocking

Created in 1963, this story is comprised of 15 original captioned vignettes featuring the entire Peanuts cast of the time—Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Frieda, Violet, Shermy and Sally—each with a joke or reflection about the season ($10, amazon.com).

Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List

It’s almost Christmas, and Peppa Pig and her little brother, George, are mailing their letters to Santa. But little does she know that a surprise is in store on Christmas Eve, and that she may play a part in saving the day ($9, amazon.com).

Merry Christmas, Maisy

Cuddle up for a little comfort and joy featuring everybody’s favorite mouse. As Maisy gets ready for Christmas, little ones can lift flaps and pull tabs to watch her bake and decorate, read her cards, peek at her gifts and open the door on Christmas morning for a merry surprise ($10, amazon.com).

The Berenstain Bears’ Old-Fashioned Christmas

The Bear family is visiting Grizzly Gramps and Gran for the special holiday. This year, they're going to celebrate the old-fashioned way. With no TV to watch or video games to play, the cubs enjoy learning all about Gran's Christmas figurines, listening to Gramps's player piano and even cutting down their own tree ($10, amazon.com).

Stop thinking of yourself as split into separate but equal roles: mother, worker, me. Listen to philosopher John Locke, cordless phone jewelry box who said that a person recognizes himself as the same being throughout his life, in different times and places. You are one person, moon watches tonneau shaped watch german watch indivisible, who just happens to wear many hats. And while I get that the weight of all those hats can wear you down, at least be happy you've got something important to do.
