Heroines from SAIC & Infinity Technology

Posted on October 11, 2010

March of Dimes Heroines in Technology awards celebrate working women who juggle it all with finesse.  The women who are recognized this year touch the lives of young people and are champion fundraisers.  They are successful at work and spend hours helping others.

Jennifer Kyle
Assistant Vice President, Cyber Business Development and Capture
SAIC

Recognized for her commitment to volunteering with local schools, AFCEA Central Maryland Chapter (CMD) nominates Jennifer Kyle as an Individual Heroine of Technology.  Having adopted Chesapeake High School and Long Reach High School, she launched the FIRST Robotics Clubs at both schools.  She is a constant advocate for STEM, Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education Coalition.

Jennifer is on the Project SCOPE (Security Clearance Overview and Preparation Education) Speakers Bureau to raise awareness and inform children how their choices made today can affect their ability to obtain security clearances later in life.  Jennifer was nominated for the Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Awards for volunteerism by Chesapeake High School.

She has served AFCEA CMD (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Central MD) in a variety of ways including VP of Outreach, VP of Events, Chair of the Scientific Education Committee, and as President of the Young AFCEANs.  Jennifer served on the AFCEA International Young AFCEAN Advisory Council and was a Young Representative to the AFCEA Intelligence Committee.

In the 2009 Man and Woman campaign, she was second runner up, raising over $81,000 to fight blood cancer.

Alisha is also an advocate for breast cancer awareness through her work with NewsBabes and the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure.  She has been recognized for her advocacy by Washingtonian Magazine, USA Today, Channel 4 and 9 news, and the Baltimore Examiner.  She has also helped Habitat for Healing raise funds for abused children.
