I wish there was one solid marriage somewhere on Grey's Anatomy. Every marriage is in ruins! Christine and Burke's dissolved even before their vows could leave their lips. George's happy days with the bone crusher ended before I could get used to their mismatched bodies being together. The gorgeous redhead wanted to get so far away from her ex that she moved to another show! Even Chief was kicked out of the house--and now our favorite working mother surgeon has seen her husband walk out on her--in the middle of a medical miracle that saved their son!
When George's dad died on the operating table I knew we were in trouble. The one role model marriage (sort of) had come to an untimely demise.
If I were considering going into medicine I would be very very afraid. I adore watching Grey-- and its one of only two shows I make an appointment to see--but couldn't there be one decent marriage for us to enjoy? Maybe McDreamy's parents are happily married. Could someone send us a postcard from them?

CEO Mom
As the founder and President of Working Mother Media I have been involved with the advancement of working moms for 30 years. I am often a keynote speaker on the subject of work-life balance, the advancement of women, barriers facing women of color, and leadership. When asked to appear on major talk shows including The Early Show, The Today Show, Oprah, Good Morning America, PBS's To the Contrary and on hundreds of radio shows or to comment in newspapers nationwide, I love to tell the world how hard working mothers work to keep their families and the businesses they work for moving and growing. I told many of my stories in the award-winning book: This is How We Do It: The Working Mothers' Manifesto.
Join me in this amazing conversation. By the way, I would not be a working mom without my two great kids - all grown up - Julia Rose and Robert Scott; and my husband Bob Coulombe is by my side every step of this journey. Let me know what you are thinking!
