Wine Down Service

Great Wolf Lodge's new Wine Down service features popular wines paired with sweet and/or savory treats for the family vacation relaxation time you've been craving.

So, you’ve decided to take the plunge and go on a family vacation. For your kids, this means unforgettable memories riding water slides, playing laser tag and lounging by the pool without a single schoolbook or homework assignment in mind. For you, this means keeping an eye on your kids all day while trying to remember if you shut the oven off before rushing out the door to get to the hotel.

If this has become your family-vacation reality, you’re in luck because Great Wolf Lodge, the largest chain of indoor water-park resorts, has partnered with wine-producing company, The Wine Group, to offer parents the opportunity to end a long day with some good drinks without leaving their hotel rooms.

There's no shortage of heart-pumping water slides at each of the 14 Great Wolf Lodge resorts.

“The concept for Wine Down Service was developed as a way to provide parents with a wine experience they can savor after their children have fallen asleep,” says Chris Hammond, corporate director of food and beverage for Great Wolf Lodge, in a press release. “To enhance the program and make it a truly authentic wine experience for parents, we developed a menu that pairs top-scoring wines from The Wine Group with tantalizing dishes.”

Available from 8 to 11 p.m., your expertly paired treats are delivered straight to your suite doors for you to enjoy at your leisure. Even better? The service opts for a text message to alert you of your delivery so they don’t wake your sleeping kiddies with a loud knock.

Hand-selected by expert wine makers, the Wine Down service offers four unique packages that cater to even the most discerning wine lover (but don't worry; wine novices will adore the picks too).

It’s Been a Fun-Filled Day, Time for Some Cabernet package

The It’s Been a Fun-Filled Day, Time for Some Cabernet package features a Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon and flavorful cured meats and Mediterranean olives.

For the couple longing for romance among the water slides and rope courses, try the Rekindle the Bonfire pairing. With a sweet bottle of Chloe Prosecco and decadent dark-chocolate covered strawberries at your side, you’ll feel like you’re falling in love all over again.

When you’re craving gourmet flavors you can’t find in the burgers and fries by the pool, turn to the While the Pups Sleep, Chardonnay package. The crisp Cupcake Chardonnay accompanied by brie, dried apricots and crackers is the perfect combination of sweet and salty to end your day.

Need a heartier option after a day of keeping an eye on the kids? The It’s Been A Fun-Filled Day, Time For Some Cabernet package includes cured meats, Mediterranean green and black olives and the bold flavor of Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon. The pairing will surely satisfy your late-night hunger pangs.

If you’re looking for a sweet treat after your kids are asleep, consider the Kids Snoring, More Pinot Noir-ing package. Your casual family vacation will have a subtle hint of luxury with this chocolate truffle and Love Noir pairing.
