
On Sunday, June 17, focus on the things that make Dad happy—then make him even happier by doing them together.
Film an adventure.
Plan an outing to an amusement park or science museum, then pass around the camera phone or handheld cam when you’re there. Let him call the shots as you all get playful and capture one another in action.
Build a robot.
What dad wouldn’t love making a friendly automaton with his kids? Collect cardboard and Styrofoam. Lay shapes out to suggest a face or other body parts. Supply toothpicks, paper clips or kabob sticks, and heavy tape to connect the pieces. Then they can paint the robot, add buttons and pop an iPod inside for a musical bot.

It may sound über-normal, but if there’s nothing he’d rather do than cheer on his favorite team, then get the tickets. Make sure to bring his favorite tailgating foods and drinks, too. Go team!
