When your child is struggling with assignments, here are effective ways to help.

1: Don’t do it for her. Make sure she understands the concepts, but stop there. Giving her the answers won’t help her learn.

2: Offer to check. Have your child show you her completed homework, and gently suggest answers she might want to rethink.

3: Get to the root of the problem. Is the home-work too difficult? Is she having trouble learning? Talk with her teacher to figure out an action plan.
