Disappearing act

Posted on August 08, 2010

Sorry to be gone so long. I just did my 1st trade show with my new company. To say we were busy before and after is an understatement. Still trying to get my head above water.

I find it very interesting in this day and age that people view a woman's desire to run a successful business AND raise children a bad thing. Since when did having a career or raising a family become mutually exclusive? I pray my daughter will never be judged the way I am right now. Yes, I work a lot, but I also work out of my home. I drop my kids off at camp every day myself. And I stop to greet them at the door every afternoon after my husband picks them up. Though he has just informed me that he will no longer pick them up. Since I work from home, he is not going to rush home to get them, I must stop whatever I am doing and get them. Umm, ok, I guess?

Because I work in jeans now, instead of dress slacks, family perceives my business as a hobby? Interesting isn't it?
