November 7, 2011, New York, NY – FOLIO’s annual Eddie and Ozzie Awards recognize excellence in magazine editorial content and design, and winners were selected from nearly 2,000 entries across more than 100 categories. The FOLIO Eddie and Ozzie Awards are the largest awards competition in magazine publishing, and the only competition for all magazines and their websites.

“I am so proud of the work our design and editorial team did on the redesign.  The new concept covers focus our unique reader’s attention directly on their needs. They need time for family, to get home sooner, to make good choices, to find flexibility in their workplace—each cover addresses a major need of the market segment we serve,” says Carol Evans, President, Working Mother Media. “At the same time, the redesign brought home the very personal nature of our relationship with our readers.  We help her with her internal feelings, her relationships at work and home and her career aspirations.  Our redesign incorporates fun illustrations and realistic photos that make an emotional connection with her.”

“This redesign captures the structure of a working mother’s busy day in a beautiful way,” says Ebelinda Antigua, Creative Director, Working Mother. “It was great to work with John Miller, Brand Director, Bonnier, to help us envision this new architecture for Working Mother.

The cover-to-cover redesign takes working moms through their day and week so they can achieve more at work and at home. The new architecture reflects readers’ non-stop 24/7 lifestyle with “Morning”, “Workday”, and “Evening” sections that solve her programs and simplify each part of her life. A “Weekend” section explores how to get the most out of precious at-home and vacation time. Each section offers time-saving tips, smart work life strategies and inspiration for career and family.

“The Folio awards represent the best in magazine publishing, and Working Mother is honored to be recognized for its work to bring the most exciting and best-looking magazine to more than two million working moms each month," says Jennifer Owens, Editorial Director, Working Mother
