To say that having a chronic, progressive disease weighs on a person is probably an understatement!  However, nurse Nicole Roach, despite having multiple sclerosis, has tipped that weight in a positive direction, thanks, in part, to her ambition and her thirst for knowledge.

Nicole was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after graduating from Temple University in 2003.  A year later she married her husband and two years later she had the first of 2 daughters. Although managing a workable schedule around a husband with a full-time job and a 3 and 5 year old can be challenging, especially with the unpredictability of multiple sclerosis symptoms added in, Nicole thinks that by adding an education from Capella to her plate, she will do “bigger and better things.”  “That is why I decided to return to school,” she says.
