To beat those get-out-of-bed battles:
1. Stir the senses.
Go into your child’s room five to ten minutes early and cuddle in bed with her. She’ll appreciate your sweet approach and will be less likely to be cranky. If she still doesn’t stir, try rubbing her back or feet.
2. Bring on the bacon.
When making your wake-up rounds, bring along some protein, like a piece of bacon or a spoonful of peanut butter. It’ll rev up their engines and make them ready for cereal and the rest of breakfast.
3. Pump up the volume.
Turn on their favorite pop radio station. It’ll activate their brains and help create a climate of fun to replace the drudgery of getting out of bed. Blast tunes in the kitchen to lure them to the table.
