Working moms know a thing or two about being prepared. But the back-to-school season can stress out even the most organized mom. To help you make it through this time of year intact, Working Mother has partnered with Chase Slate to conduct a survey that asks working moms about the biggest challenges they face for back-to-school.

What do we know already? Gearing up for school means just that—new gear. Begin stocking up for the year with school supplies. Send your kids on a seek-and-find mission to discover what you may already have in the house on the list from school. Then enter the items you need to purchase on your cell phone so you’ll always have your checklist on hand and you won’t miss a sale (or buy two staplers by mistake). Take the same approach with your child’s wardrobe: Before you buy, go through your child’s closet to see what fits—and what doesn't. Then have your kids make a wish list and set a budget. To keep spending in check, sign up for e-mail alerts from your child’s favorite retailers to be sure you’re updated on sales and discount offers.
