Stories make us human. Our stories bridge time, culture, and the multiplicity of identity to capture the human experience that connects us.
In shaping our careers, we ask ourselves, How did we get to where we are and how do we decide where we’re going? Our success depends on the story we tell ourselves … and what we do about it.
The Power of Your Story captures your cultural narrative and is transformative in its ability to influence, inspire, educate and motivate.
The Power of Your Story can impact your organization’s culture and contribute to the business.
At our 2013 Multicultural Women’s National Conference - we celebrate and leverage Living Out Loud: the Power of Your Story.
Living out Loud means we embrace our authentic self and learn to communicate the value we bring to all we do.
Living out Loud means we own the power to transform thinking, shape our vision, and innovate for change.
Each of us has a compelling story. Bring yours to the 2013 Multicultural Women’s National Conference.

As leaders we have incredible power to influence those we work with through story-telling. In this workshop, the participants will learn about three types of stories leaders can share about themselves that create great connection and influence with those we work with.
Participants will learn the leadership benefit of each type of story. They will also develop their unique story and practice sharing this so they can influence others via their authentic leadership voice.
Background:
1. We are in a "Connection Economy" says Seth Godin. In his book "The Icarus Deception" Seth talks about how our ability to "connect" with others is now a more powerful lever than ever in our ability to lead, to influence, to drive success.
2. Neuroscience research shows that sharing stories stimulates our brain in unique ways creating strong connections with others.

Is there any reason for you to have a more powerful and impactful presence? Absolutely! From landing an important position, to raising significant capital, to convincing others that you are, without a doubt, worthy of their time and investment – your presence is critical. We have never witnessed a time in history, like this, where exceptional communicators are in demand.
At any time anyone can learn to have a more charismatic presence; all it takes is technique, training and practice. In this workshop, the mechanics of presence and the artfulness of connection with any given audience will be explored and put to the test. Learn to embrace the room, lead with confidence, establish rapport quickly, and pitch ideas for a win/win situation. Kelly Hadous, certified executive and presentation strategy coach, consults in a variety of industries. Kelly’s methods are designed to dramatically improve communication, and how to keep focused in the moment. Learn how to win the room, whether to investors, interviewers, or colleagues. You already have what it takes – by improving your presence, you leverage your talents and gain a distinct advantage.

Round III: StorySkill Workshops: Become more Sponsorable by the Way you Tell your Story
We have all learned about the advantages of having good mentors. Fewer of us know about how to secure good sponsors and what it means for career advancement.
Sponsorship relationships must be reciprocal and based on high levels of trust. It is more difficult for women and especially multicultural women to develop such relationships. When senior leaders (usually white men) decide who to sponsor, they naturally select those with whom they are most comfortable…other white men.
From this session you will leave with a personal plan of action on how to craft your authentic story to build and extend your sponsorship appeal.
Workshop Facilitator:
Mary-Frances Winters / President and Founder / The Winters Group, Inc.
Emcee:
Carmen Oveissi Field / Principal, Analytic & Forensic Technology /

This session is designed to create a safe space where you can ask any question professionally and personally as you look at what’s next for you. We create the optimal environment where participants begin to remove their “Super Shereo’s” cape and look at what they need to take care of themselves so that they can powerfully put their capes back on with no regrets.
Typical topics or questions discussed include:
• Generating momentum
• Next steps – How to get in action
• Creating work/life balance
• Building my brand inside my corporation or beside it?
• Strengthening my story to make a difference in my workplace
• Picking myself up as a mom? A CEO? A wife? Woman?
