Aline Brosh McKenna has written movies which rank among the most memorable and entertaining women-oriented films of the last few years. Her strong writing ear brought us the memorable characters in The Devil Wears Prada and more recently, the enjoyable chick flick Morning Glory and the equally funny romantic comedy 27 Dresses. Now, she is back on the big screen putting words in Sara Jessica Parker’s mouth in I Don’t Know How She Does It from the book of the same name by Allison PearsonThe film about a high-powered working mother who gets text messages about the kids with lice, licks stains off her blazer, dozes off in her black nightie–and more–is deftly written by this working mom-of-2 who clearly brings a personal clarity to the film. brosh McKenna is also the film's executive producer.

In 2010, Brosh McKenna spoke to Working Mother when Morning Glory was released.

“I write about things I’m interested in and hope other people will be interested, too.” Some of her ideas are drawn from the people in her life. “I have many fabulous friends struggling with really interesting things.” 27 Dresses, for instance, was inspired by a friend who was in 12 weddings. “It made me wonder how you get to be good friends with that many people,” she says.

Reviews have been mixed for the film. Some say it's a cliche. Others find moments of reality worth laughing about (and laughing at themselves). Either way, Brosh McKenna crafted a film for our time.
