Giving Facebook The Boot

Let me preface this blog post by first saying I am one plugged-in Mommy. I live and breathe the Internet and social media, and whole-heartedly endorse it.  As a woman who works in public relations, it's a necessary professional tool that can come with great benefits.

Memories

Posted on July 21, 2012

The best part of working so hard is seeing the finished product. I just got  my second blog book in the mail today! They look so professional! It feels like I actually wrote a book when I looked through it. If that's how writing a real book feels like-man, I can't wait for the opportunity! I also have put down some more new ideas down for my blog. This creativity of mine is at it's best these days! In the mean time, I guess I'll just work on building my skills up! In other news, my Self magazine also came in the mail.

#Hotness for July

#Hotness for July

Here are few things that are hot on my list this month:

The Calendar Bracelet by Dalla Nonna

1. A Dalla Nonna calendar bracelet is what all the cool moms want -- and I'm no different. My only problem is two kids, born in two different month so what's a mom to do? Well I could get two. Prices range from $125 - $650 depending on the metal you choose. Which ever you decide, do choose one.

Working with another or working alone?

I never really gave it much thought up until now. I can just imagine me in my own little office (at home,of course) doing what I do best (writing).  I hope I'll be making a decent chunk of money while I do my favorite thing. I just wish it wouldn't have so many things to keep track of. Somewhere along the line I would have to hire someone just to keep up with all that's going on at the job.Wish me luck finding someone who won't care if the pay is low! Desperation just isn't onpeople's minds these days.

summer's almost over!

Posted on July 14, 2012

Today is July 14. For all that haven't noticed before, this was my first summer alone. I've been keeping myself busy instead of feeling sorry for myself. You can catch all the details on my blog My Daily Thoughts On Life. The best thing happened to me last night-my girls are coming home soon! I got a message from one of them(coming home at end of the month) and it just made me happy!I thought I wasn't going to make it alone-but I guess I was wrong. That and the fact that my niece was still here -we've had a lot of playdates all the time they were gone!

Finally Finished What I Started

For all  the people that don't know, The Hunger Games Is one of the best books I've read hands down! It took me forever to read it! It also reminds me of rhis other series I read-The Twilight series.I will be getting started on the second part of the series soon! I bet the movie's great too! The rest of my day will be  spent getting my exercise and writing a little more. I have some posts that I'd like to share with everyone about how I've been doing on my first summer alone. Man, I'm glad that I could still write through all this!

Bully Isn't the Bad Guy

Bully Isn't the Bad Guy

With all the attention on prevention and punishment we’ve lost sight of the empowerment opportunities.  Neither the bully nor the bullied operate from a position of power and choice; each feels trapped in a game of survival

Bully survival: Stay on top of the food chain.

Bullied survival:  Escape the bottom of the food chain.

The Fourth of July-Almost There!

I'm not used to spending this day with out my kids. They are my best friends-well you'd think it if you saw us together. The day isn't over yet, so who knows what may happen? But hey, it has done wonders for my self-confidence. I'm still able to do what I love best(writing) and I still find the time to take care of myself too.Keeping myself up is a lot of hard work!  I can't eat whatever I want because I want to look even better when they come home. I can't take the comments, I just can't!  I thought I would have spent the first half of summer crying because they're gone.

unsure about future....

My life got a little hectic and I'm just now starting to feel like things are under control.I just got the chance to peek at the latest issue of Working Mother magazine and it made me nervous. I haven't been around long enough to  to feel confident about writing a article for the magazine. I guess I'll just have to wait until my confidence grows more to try writing my first article.I just have to be patient with this. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I have been keeping myself busy writing this weekend.

Stop Telling Me What I Can't Have! - The Pink Suite

I wish people would stop telling women what they can and can't have...  From the sound of it, Ann-Marie Slaughter did exactly what she wanted, needed or was driven to do, in her story; "Why Women Still Can't Have It All." We live is a world of customization and have been saying for decades one size doesn't fit all.
