Early this morning I received a few emails telling me if one went to the main page of my website, it said “You’ve been hacked by a Turkish hacker”.  I laughed, and I was so proud of myself.

How To Get Back Up When Life Knocks You Down

How To Get Back Up When Life Knocks You Down

If you're like me, you've been programmed to put on that "happy face", and sock every ounce of energy into keeping it all running smoothly.  What's the option?  Falling apart?  I have always thought that if I fall apart, the world will somehow stop spinning on it's axis.  Sometimes, life knocks you down.  The trick is in learning how to get back up.  Accepting that this is okay is like using a muscle in my body that hasn't been used in years.

3-Essential Tips For Over 40's Great Hairstyles

The most essential engineering equation I am carrying around in my head right now is that your hair is 50% of the equation toward your looks.  This percentage can increase significantly to at least 75-80% when we gain a few pounds or notice (egads!) a new forehead wrinkle.  If you're like me, in the "forty-something" generation, then finding or creating a hairstyle requires a little thought and consideration.

Zensible Mama Groovin' it out with Louis Van Amstel of Dancing with the Stars!

What would you do when you're in a room with one of the professional dancers of Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance TV Shows? Moi? I danced!

I was on vacation at a Spa in Tucson AZ when I saw that one of their workout sessions was a workout created by Louis Van Amstel. I tried the class and loved it. Then I found out that the he was coming to town to teach class that week. I was ecstatic!

Reality Star Gazing...

I met Kendra Wilkinson, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan this week.  I am a reality show junkie!  I can't help it.  I blame it on me being a Psychology major.  But I really thing it stems from something much deeper.  I am utterly intrigued with watching other people.  I love watching people at the airport.  I love walking through the city streets (whatever city I might be in) checking out everyone around me.  My husband thinks I am critical of people.  And I guess in some ways I am.  However, I feel like TV, the media, Hollywood, etc makes so

Random acts of kindness

I have a few pet peeves.  I happen to hate when people use the word “utilize” in an effort to be fancy, when “use” is correct.   I mean really, when is the last time you utilized a nail file as a screwdriver and needed to talk about it?

The Blues..aka: Depression

At one time or another in each of our lives we may be impacted by depression or the blues.  It's a natural part of life to feel down particularly when we lose someone we love or dreams we've valued.  Struggling through the difficult times in our lives or setbacks can be challenging and may need medical attention.  You're not alone if you feel like this and I've had to realize that I'm not alone either.  However, depression is like that...it can make you feel alone, very alone.

Bullying on the Baseball Field

Shocking! And a parent's greatest fear! Bullies aren't just at school or in your neighborhood any more. They also can be on your child's sports team. A place where children are supposed to learn what team means.

Teaching Kids to "Friend" and "Un-Friend" in Real Life

Social networking has made it extremely easy to connect…or disconnect…with the people who move through our lives. I recently caught up with an old high school friend on Facebook and realized after a short time that she and I didn’t have much in common anymore. We pursued different life paths and had different philosophies in life. She became a stay-at-home Mom and I pursued a career and became a parent later in life. We both are very happy with our life choices but it sometimes caused a strange dynamic between us – like we feared upsetting the other when our ideas weren’t in sync.
