Last week, I wrote about the need to conduct a Personal Brand Audit in my life. Having been greatly inspired by a certain Digital Princess - @AmyJoMartin from Digital Royalty, to clear out the clutter, simplify where needed and increase organization to maximize my day, I wanted to give you an update on my progress, lest you think I was full of you know what. 

After all, follow through is key!

We all know that motherhood is a constant juggling act. Between sports practice, school activities, homework and our constantly-buzzing Blackberries, it’s no small miracle when we’re able to get dinner on the table. But just because things don’t always go the way we planned (ok, they rarely go the way we planned) doesn’t mean we can’t stop to enjoy a MomWin: those brief, shining moments when we get it perfectly, shockingly and magically right—or when you just have to laugh that it went wrong.

1. Boxers or briefs?

I am definitely a briefs guy, but not the tighty whitey briefs I wear the boxer briefs. My friends and I used to call them bundies.

Apologies to my spiritually sexy sisters who have been checking back in regularly looking for more titillating and inspiring blogs over the last couple of weeks.  Like most working mothers there are times we get overwhelmed and pushed almost beyond our capabilities and this has been the case for me lately, except for one thing.  I have never been more joyful about this state of near exhaustion!  What has been keeping me so busy that I haven’t had time to keep up with my weekly blogs?  Something REALLY spiritually sexy . . . 

Parents and teachers beware; Google is planning to make your jobs a little bit harder.  Influencing a kid’s decisions is already tricky, and with Google’s new Project Glass, it may become almost impossible unless your methods get an update.  Google has combined the functionality of your iPhone and iPod with its popular features and put them into glasses.

I recently had the honor and pleasure of attending Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s meeting entitled “The Empowerment of Girls and Women: Addressing poverty, hunger, health disparities, education, and other current changes.” 

This past Sunday my son and I stumbled upon Lady Gaga's new Born This Way initiative, launched recently at Harvard, which focuses on heightening understanding around bullying and promoting a more compassionate society. It spurred a great conversation with my ten-year old around why people bully and what you can do when you see bullying. 



A lot of moms would like to start a business from home to have flexibility and leisure time to get multiple chores done and eran a living.

Maintaining household and paying bills on time is essential and important.

Starting a consultant business in any industry is rewarding and challenging.

Here are the first steps to get the ball rolling in a timely fashion.

First, creating a business name is the most important ordeal of the day.

Receiving support from family and friends to help you come up with a spectacular and memorable business name.

A friend of mine raved about her fitbit.  And she is someone who rarely gushes so I was intrigued.  I thought $100 for what essentially seemed like a pedometer was a little steep.  But I went ahead and bought it and then started using it.  Immediately, I began to learn surprising things about myself:

What it is:  A dare gone viral.  Kids challenge each other to eat a tablespoon of ground cinnamon which will surely result in coughing, gagging, choking, and sometimes vomiting.  Oh, and it burns like heck, too.
