#Hotness for July

Here are few things that are hot on my list this month:

The Calendar Bracelet by Dalla Nonna

1. A Dalla Nonna calendar bracelet is what all the cool moms want -- and I'm no different. My only problem is two kids, born in two different month so what's a mom to do? Well I could get two. Prices range from $125 - $650 depending on the metal you choose. Which ever you decide, do choose one.

Tip of the Week

Prevent Swimmer's Ear and Elicit Caregiving

What it is:  Swimmer's Ear is a bacterial infection of the ear canal.  Excessive swimming can wash away the protective coating of earwax creating perfect conditions for a doctor visit.

There can’t be a harder job on earth – being a working woman executive – I am certain of it. Has anyone taken a poll? Can somebody call Nielsen? I am living proof and there’s plenty more of us! In my most humble of opinions, working women executives trying to balance running a household, running a business or head a department, nurturing your family, and keeping your home afloat is a task for only titans!

Great Goat Cheese Scones

Great Goat Cheese Scones

We are always looking for breakfast alternatives. These great, tangy, cheesy, buttery scones are an adaptation of Art Smith’s. To be honest, Ryan and Chloe don’t love them as goat cheese is an acquired taste, but Mark can eat five or six in one sitting. Suggest you serve them warm with butter or without. The kids will stick with plain Cheerios as their gourmet tastebuds slowly develop. In the meantime, raise your coffee mug to another one bowl gourmet wonder.

6 Sneaky Snoozes in Seconds, Minutes & Moments

A close friend once told me, “Being a mom is exhausting.  I have to take a nap to become tired!”   Before I become a mother, I didn’t fully understand that statement.  Obviously, it took more energy to check off a mom’s to-do list, but if she only has one child, she should still get enough rest, right?

Baby Shower Shopping Made Easy: The Best New Baby Shower Gifts

June has definitely been the month of baby showers. And while I can fully appreciate a Mom-to-be’s request that gifters choose items from the standard Babies-R-Us Registry, I’ve been on a mission to find gifts that a new mom can use and still be slightly unique. Lucky for me, I found several new gift ideas that are perfect for moms-to-be and quite practical and fun to boot!

Placing a Priority on Relationships or "The Best Excuse for Missing a Run"

Posted on June 22, 2012

I have the best excuse ever for missing my run the other night.  I was on the phone talking to my girlfriend who is also playing the working mom game.  My BFF now has more than a year of working mom experience under her belt – the hardest year – the year when you leave your helpless infant in the care of someone else.  It still makes my stomach turn thinking about it, and my “first year of experience” was over nine years ago.
