Shed Your “Devil” and Pursue Your Dreams, No Matter What!

“To say ‘I don’t have time’ is like saying ‘I don’t want to.” ~Lao Tzu

This is a story about my dream to become a writer. For years I had put this dream on the “one day” calendar because I thought that one day I would have more time.

Have you ever experienced that time was an excuse and that the Devil on your shoulders (the voice of doubt) sabotaged your plans? How did you deal with it?

WHEN LOVE COMES TOGETHER..YOU MAKE ICON NEWS

The act of kindness is an amazing thing. When people come together for the good of man things happen, doors open, and mountains move.

This past Thursday, was the first attempt to bring awareness to humanity in regard to the need of music, and art programs, in public schools through Muzart World Foundation.

Also, the importance of positive lyrics for our youth today through Conscious Music Entertainment.

The many people who came out to support us were a blessing in getting the news filtered into the public, and media.

Overindulgence at Christmas Time, Why Not?

To me, giving too many presents is like having too much money. How could either be a bad thing?

As long as your heart and intentions are in the right place, what's the big deal?

Growing up, we'd be lucky to get a new pair of shoes for the start of the new school year. But, you could bet that our Christmas tree would be dancing with gifts under every branch. It's just something my mom chose to provide us with each year.

Of course, we are all adults and understand that the gifts aren't what's important, but that's for another post.

What a Cat Can Teach You About the Law of Attraction

Whenever I am impatient and doubt if the Law of Attraction really works, I look at my cat, Kiki. She is my daily reminder that the word ‘impatience’ doesn’t exist when you believe in divine timing.

For years I had waited to get a female kitten, believing that our five kids and five animals were more than enough. I even surprised myself the day I declared out loud, “It’s time to get another cat!” My kids were ecstatic.

Should stay-at-home-dads be looking for work instead of playing Mr. Mom?

My husband is done with school for the year, which means he has the whole month of December to spend time with us OR work. He has submitted applications to hundreds of stores for seasonal jobs but of course, no one wants to hire a master's student in Chemical and Biomedical engineering as a cashier job, that would be so uncreative and booooring! So, we met one of our very good friends at the mall tonight and we started talking.

Surviving the Interrupted Work Day

Anyone who is working from home with children knows there are many moments when work and family life collide. At times like those, either work is at a standstill or someone's feelings get hurt if you offer distraction options to your little ones who just want mommy's attention.

If you're constantly interrupted by your children because they're bored or are bickering or hungry or thirsty or Fill In The Blank, you have a number of options to reduce the stress of Stop and Go work.

Finding Your Present

Today, I was a penguin chick and was reminded there are more people in Columbia than Argentina.  I dusted off my early algebra skills and took my daughter’s pulse during a range of activities.  Yes, this was the homework of the day.  And in between this, we attended Sunday church services, played two soccer games in two different towns in Westc
