The idea of organizing finances with a pen and paper is so archaic. Paying for everything in cash, that’s history. Imagine if there were no credit cards or debit cards. No direct deposit. No marketing like nothing down and no interest ‘til 2015!

My guess is there would be a lot less debt among families.

During the holiday break I spent some time writing down plans for my small business, Kharismatic Kreations, LLC.  I have lots of ideas and desires for growing the business, but I don’t have the time or finances to pull it all off.  It takes money to make money and to jumpstart a successful business.  Ultimately my dream goal is to be a self-employed entrepreneur.  Time and money are scarce resources for me as I try to grow Kharismatic Kreations.  My parents have invested some money and equipment, and I have been making sales, but not as consistent as I’d like.

Recently my book coach posted my message/blog on her website and I was ecstatic! There it was – my message and next to it the cover of my upcoming book! I felt so proud of myself; it has been a long journey, and now to see it posted on her site just made it all more real.

When it comes to numbers, I'm an absolute idiot. My husband will toss around percentages and fractions and I'll be like, "oh yeah, whatever... that means nothing to me, tell me in real English."

So, when it comes to budgeting our money, you could imagine what he thought. As if he'd trust me in creating a strategic plan for our money! Heck, with all those meticulous calculations plus incorporating all our household needs...

You bet he did (of course not initially).

I used to love writing poetry in my teen years. Most of my poems would be about the perils of the heart – the breakups, the dreams, and the desire for freedom – all those things that are born in the teenager’s heart, and that continue on as we grow older.

Goal Setting is one of those important aspects of life that I never did single or married. I have always just gone with the flow. Not saying that is a bad; it is I just didn't have any focus and just moved along with life events as they unfolded. After my divorce with my life in complete array, I knew that I needed to start choosing my priorities differently.

The holiday season has come to a close. Everyone is a few pounds heavier and their wallets are a bit lighter.

It's the time for fresh starts and new beginnings. Goals, resolutions, even new habits are on the horizon. You see it everywhere... latest tips and tricks to achieve your hearts desire.

You've got high hopes for yourself. You think this is the year. Your mind is determined. I wish you the best.
