I recently attended an artists’ studio tour in my hometown. Seeing these amazing avant-garde work/home/creative spaces was a powerful reminder that there is no “one way” to live or work. Drinking in this visual feast of multimedia, oil paintings, woodwork and sculpture, pottery and glassblowing brought my imagination alive and inspired me to re-visit one of my favorite mantras: do it different.

On April 15th, 2013, when twin bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon, a pit of fear and worry ached in my stomach, reminding me of how vulnerable my daughter Madison, a type 1 diabetic, is. I hate to be so grim, but without insulin, she will die. And with too much insulin, she will either go into a coma or die.

Chocolate Chocolate-chip Muffins from the corner deli I bought a large herbal tea this morning (more on my chai latte addiction later) and eyed one of my favorite morning treats. I don’t think I’ve had one in a year, but oh, man – how I loved these things! So sweet and sticky. Mmmmm.

Summer is around the corner. Except, if you live on an island as I do, summer is virtually around every corner. ALL. THE. TIME. However, here are a few of my no fail, works every time, get fit tips that I found that have not only work for me, but everyone else. If I do it for 3 months, I lose between 12-15lbs, which is perfect, because that is what I essentially put on between September and March :)

1) Drink Water - I replace virtually every drink with water - sparkling, room temperature, cold, with lemon/lime...whatever floats your boat. Just drink it.

Yikes! Another possible bad habit is already starting to brew in my life all because of this article, This Bad Habit Could Make You Sick that I read on www.foxnews.com. For the past couple days, I can’t stop over-thinking things, which is stressing me out!
