Meredith Vieira Leaves Today Show for Her Family

Meredith Vieira’s decision last month to leave The Today Show caused quite a stir. Most speculated that she was leaving the popular NBC morning news show to care for her husband journalist Richard Cohen, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. Turns out, that report was partly true.

It takes eight people to do my job. The job of mom, that is.  If you count the people it takes to do my teaching job as well, that makes a total of ten. I will be having surgery Tuesday to repair nerve damage from the hernia surgery I had back in September. Having just completed the massive document of who goes where when, I have counted ten people to cover for me for four days. Unbelievable, isn’t it ?

At one time or another in each of our lives we may be impacted by depression or the blues.  It's a natural part of life to feel down particularly when we lose someone we love or dreams we've valued.  Struggling through the difficult times in our lives or setbacks can be challenging and may need medical attention.  You're not alone if you feel like this and I've had to realize that I'm not alone either.  However, depression is like that...it can make you feel alone, very alone.
