Mother and Daughter Day Out Over A Cup of Coffee - Divine!

If the title didn't give it away, I'm sitting inside a Starbuck's cafe right now with my 7 year old daughter and just chillin' the day away. While I sip my Caffe' Mocha with a yummy shot of Espresso and Peppermint while attempting to write my thoughts here, she on the other hand is busy with the iPad and sipping her favorite drink. What's pretty about this picture? Ah, you should ask. Silence. Peace. Priceless!

Career Day

On Mondays, my oldest wants to be a paleontologist, digging for dinosaur bones in South America. Tuesday, she’d rather be a veterinarian, caring for kittens, puppies and horses. By Wednesday, its teaching; she wants to teach tiny tots to read.

Such are the dreams of 1st graders everywhere. When growing up means you get to be anything you want to be. Zookeeper, fireman or teacher. President, doctor or author. The sky’s the limit.

Working Mother Challenge: Be In the Present

I was walking with a friend and catching up.  She is an amazing person.  She welcomed us when we first moved in with a party at her house introducing us to the neighbors.

My Son's Future Wife

The subject line from my 5 year old son’s pre-school director letting me know a girl’s intentions at school. Of course, I was quite proud someone wanted to live with my son for the rest of his life. And additionally grateful we just bought a suit for a relative’s wedding so if they can plan it quickly, we won’t have to buy the groom’s outfit.

Patience is a virtue...esp with a 3 year old!

My 3 year old son and I just got back from a 7 day trip together...alone! Now, my son is a well traveled little boy. And we have traveled together by ourselves since he was about 5 or 6 months old. But this time was different. The last time I traveled with him by myself was on a trip back from LA last May and it wasn't truly by ourselves because a coworker was with us. This time I did not have any additional support while actually traveling.
