Who's Your Mama?

Today I had the Awesome opportunity to work with Carol Evans. She is President of Working Mother Media. While preparing Carol for her television shot, I got a chance to learn a little bit about who she was and what she did. She has a GREAT magazine called….you guessed it, Working Mother. Now, I know you are saying, what the heck does a magazine about working Mothers have to do with beauty? More specifically, Nophotoshopbeauty. Well, here it goes.

Moms Do The Delaney Dash In Old Saybrook!

This morning, I was fortunate to participate in the four mile Delaney Dash to benefit the Sean Delaney Memorial Scholarship Fund.  A male soloist performed The Star Spangled Banner, and we were off into the mist. Although I have run this very route over the Old Saybrook Causeway hundreds of times, today was the first time that I took part in this race.

Top FAV 5 Cocktail Dress picks from the StyleDIVA

Every girl loves a pretty dress. One that shows all the right features and accents her in her flawed areas. These 5 dresses I picked from

Moms Do The Ten Penny Ale Shamrock Du!

Adding the “athlete” designation to our list of roles as women is both a privilege and an accomplishment. I sometimes add “princess” to my list because I cannot stand uneven and/or chipped nails.  My husband selflessly preserved my fresh manicure by making sure that the air pressure in my tires was correct for my weight, then cleaning and oiling the gears and chains of my beloved Dolce racing bike.

How to Stay Grounded on Vacation

Refreshing yourself with a little relaxation at a luxury resort and getting a little R & R is important. Also just as valuable is keeping oneself grounded or staying connected with our earth. Yes my dear, sometimes a few of us tend to lose ourselves when on holiday, but let’s not throw all our virtues out the window and definitely not our spa days.

Morning Brings Out Other Competitive Moms (I thought I was special.)

Out of the thirty-five or so eager souls who had risen at the crack of dawn to practice for the Shamrock Du, the first two whom I met are also working mothers. I met Jamie and Karen, who both have young children, before we took off for our 13mile ride to preview the race course.  We all agree that this is a gift to ourselves and from our understanding husbands who remained home with our toddlers.
