Clearwater Beach sand and water is like no other. And the amenities don’t fall behind either.

I recently saw Honda's new commercial for their new CRV in which a spritely young lass travels the country, taking photos in a different t-shirt in every state she visits, crossing off states one at a time from her "leap list." Being the curious cat that I am, I had to Google leap list to find out more...and loved what I found!

Incompatible, irreconcilable differences, parting of ways…it doesn’t matter how you phrase it, but a long-term relationship has ended for me. I’ve known him a decade longer than I’ve known my husband, and he has outlasted any girlfriend I’ve ever had. Joe has been present in times of tremendous joy, pain, sorrow-he has seen it all, and he sat and listened without judging. That’s hard to come by these days. And the relationship ended so abruptly that I haven’t had much time to process my emotions until now.

Last summer, I was sitting in Greece breathing a huge sigh of relief that our whole family including two pets safely arrived on this first leg of our trip. I had created some goals for my time there.

My husband, the Hollywood writer and movie guru, coined this catchy phrase, Oscar Movie Monday, and it just stuck. He made it a point to ensure we spent quality time together on a regular basis, so one of his clever ideas was that on the first Monday of every month we would watch an Oscar nominated film. So, to pay tribute to my hubby’s wonderful idea, on the first Monday of each month I will share an Oscar nominated movie that I think all mom’s will appreciate, whether it be for the laughs, or the tears or the memorable moments moms will value forever.

I had the pleasure of joining this amazing social networking site just a couple of months ago, and I must say, I love it! Pinterest is an online, photo-sharing board, where you can collect any and all things that you love, whether it be favorite recipes, hairstyles, clothes, fashion, health advice, kids crafts or fitness tips. Basically, you collect data for your specified, self-created, board and you “pin”, or share it. It’s really that simple.

A dozen charity-runs in Connecticut support honorable women’s organizations for this 2013 Mother’s Day Weekend, but all of those races are held on a paved course. Why not give your tired legs a break from such pounding and run or walk-run on a beautiful cross-country course instead? I know that runners like my own woods-avoiding mom are thinking, “hmm…cross-country course: roots, boulders, streams and lots of slippery debris that will trip me” but that does not describe the terrain for the two loop Hartford Marathon Foundation’s True Colors 5K.

Recently, I attended a conference in Orlando, FL.(I know…the hardships of work are often unbearable.) In the midst of the preparation and conference itself, we had a half-day reprieve and could do what we wished with that time. My boss and colleagues commenced with holding an impromptu meeting at the pool and water-slide, but I opted to stay in my hotel room-doing my taxes.
