While the rest of us have been trying to "have it all" and "balance" our lives the most famous designer on earth is quietly releasing her fall collection.
For Mother's Day my kids gave me a great gift. They would take the entire bookcase of home videos and have them transferred to DVDs. I tried not to get too excited. My kids are 30, 34 and 35 and I still have a "gift certificate" they gave me twenty five years ago promising all kinds of goodies that never materialized.
Lo and behold, my daughter scooped up all the videos and brought them to a guy to transfer. Friday night she brought the first batch of DVDs. We laughed, we cried, and almost missed our dinner reservation because we didn't want to stop.

Well it's back to school time and as a mom of a baby girl that loves taking her lunch I get bored sending the same old sandwich day after day. But after peeping out http://www.familyfreshcooking.com/ for some healthy food choices I lucked up on Project LunchBox.
There was a tiny girl with spray-painted purple hair leaping into the air on a bungee jump at a small town fair periodically squealing, “This is the best day ever!”
My 13-year-old daughter, just prior to that, had noted how bored she was, waiting for her brother’s turn at the bungee leaping, sometimes furiously texting friends on her phone, detaching as best as she could from our “family day.”

Attitudes are habits of thought created by repeatedly thinking or feeling something.
Why it’s Important: Once formed, attitudes provide the personal meaning and relevance for all new information. Attitudes are also called beliefs.
The Problem: Attitudes operate outside conscious awareness becoming our assumptions, judgments, bias, and ultimately our behavior. Limiting beliefs and prejudice are attitudes that get in the way of happiness.

My husband and I were slightly obsessed with the Olympics this year. It’s odd since we can’t even remember watching any part of the previous three Olympics together, but this year, we broke multiple Hurst records for time spent in front of the television. We broke all the rules about not eating in front of the television and putting Lexi to bed on time. And we justified to Lexi by saying that the Summer Olympics only came around once every four years. She didn’t really need to know that the Winter Olympics are staggered in between those four years…

Today, I’m on vacation in San Diego with my daughter, Grand Dude and his 2 sons. We have a beach house and have been enjoying the bogey boarding and skim boarding. The 3 teenagers haven’t had much exposure to the ocean so it has been one learning experience for them after another. I grew up in Southern California, so I became the self-appointed tour guide.

My youngest is nuts for eggs. He can eat them fried, scrambled or boiled anytime of the day.
The humble egg is a low-cost, high-quality protein. It's also good brain food. A couple of weeks ago, my friend, a professional chef, whipped up a quick and delicious brunch with Alexander's favourite food.
Tara poached eggs in an arrabiata sauce.
I often duplicate Tara's recipe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And everytime, it makes Alexander a very happy boy.
