Who among us doesn't secretly love watching Tom and Jerry, the classic cartoon characters that we've lived with since forever. Warner has created a new original movie, that finds our characters among the last animals living in Storybook Town, a fairy tale-inspired theme park "where dreams come true, if you believe." Jack is desperate to save the park from the hands of a greedy billionaire, setting out with his loyal cat and mouse friends to sell his prize cow for... some magic beans?!

New to DVD/Blu-ray this week is Blue Sky Studios' animated feature film "Epic." If you like fairy tales, then you will love this film. A teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. She bands together with a rag-tag group characters in order to save their world -- and ours.

This story follows the life of Cecil Gaines who serves eight presidents as a butler at the White House. We see how the civil rights movement, Vietnam and other major events affect this man's life, family and American society. Be forewarned that it is rated PG-13 for some violence and disturbing images, language, sexual material, thematic elements and smoking. Starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, this movie hit a home run with our KIDS FIRST!

Steve Jobs is certainly an icon of our times. What this biographical film points out is how difficult a person he was in terms of social relationships and yet, how extraordinary brilliant he was. Without Steve Jobs, I'm not sure we would have ever had personal computers or smart phones. This is a compelling story that follows Jobs from his early years, as a college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century. I loved the film and wished it would have continued longer into his life. Our youth critics loved it as well. As KIDS FIRST!

From the French film director Luc Besson (Le Grand Bleu, Arthur and the Invisibles), comes an adventure set in the early part of the 20th century focused on a popular novelist and her dealings with would-be suitors, the cops, monsters, and other distractions. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Valdi Belizaire suggests, "You should really watch this movie if you like adventures." Her review is below.

Flashpoint is a thrilling, fast paced, comic book movie. The story begins with our hero Flash/Barry Allen (Justin Champers) waking up to find out that his life has changed; his murdered mother is alive, a war is going on and he has no super speed. Barry has no idea what's going on, but it's up to him to not only save his life, but the world too. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Keefer Blakeslee (age 13) loves it and warns, "This is not a movie for little kids.

Woman On Top by Deborah Schwartz is a compelling account of how two men had an impact on the female heroine, Kate.  Jake is Kate’s late husband, who succumbed to cancer at the all too early age of thirty-five. The author describes him as Kate’s soul mate, best friend, and lover.

If you thought “Cars” was brilliant, then you’ll be sure to love their latest animated adventure, “Planes!”  It’s an action-packed comedy featuring Dusty, a small plane with dreams of competing in an around-the-world race.  The only problem is that Dusty is a crop-duster who’s afraid of heights!  As you can imagine, this makes it very difficult for Dusty to achieve his dreams.  But, with the help of his best friends and a trained navy fighter plane named Skipper, Dusty finds new hope and inspiration.  KIDS FIRST!
