It's funny how your perspective can change when you actually take a moment to SEE what's going on around you.

Let me explain.

You Say Goodbye, And I Say Hello

With several arrivals and departures of child care providers in our house this past year, I’m considering serving dinner on airport trays.

Working Mother Challenge: Be In the Present

I was walking with a friend and catching up.  She is an amazing person.  She welcomed us when we first moved in with a party at her house introducing us to the neighbors.

The truth about friends....

My mother was the smartest woman ever. You may disagree. You may even come up with a few names of exceptionally smart women since the dawn of time. But I’m telling you, she was it. She had an opinion on everything- sharp, funny, silly, and yes…. downright annoying, but hey, brilliance comes with a price.

Hooray I made it out of the house on time this morning!!

I did it! I am always rushing like a mad woman out of the house. My Middle School Ager has to be in school by 8am and my Kindergartener by 8:30am so in "Gail's time" I have to leave home by 7:45ish - cutting it close (I  know).

We're In The Money! (Sort Of!)

We’re In The Money!

Well, sort of.

My daughter came home all excited yesterday saying, “Peter gave me fifty bucks!”

Me:  “Oh, that’s cute.  Is it a picture or Monopoly money?”

My girl: “No, mom a real fifty”

Me: “No, really?  Show me.”

She continues, “He gave it to me because he likes me.”

Me: “Ohhh.  Honey.  You did nothing wrong.  But I have to call Peter’s mom because we have to give it back, and his mom needs to know he gave it to you.”

Are you my mother?

I went to bed feeling so guilty last nite.  After finishing up a late dinner with the boys and getting my 6 year old ready for bed, I told him to pick out his story book for the nite and Mom would be right back as I dashed down the stairs to the kitchen to quickly do some dishes and put away left overs. When I got back upstairs my little guy was fast asleep with his Batman library book halfway under his body.... mommy had missed out on reading him a book for the night... sad face!

Respect the WAHM

Respect the WAHM

This was my conversation with my husband:

me:"you better start getting your stuff together for our vacation, we are leaving in 2 weeks."

him:"thats why I asked you to go shopping for me"

It is a common misconception that a WAHM is not really working when she is at home. Yes, the TV is on in the background all day. Yes, I often have a cat sleeping by my side most of the time. No, I am not goofing off.

I am knitting. I am running my online business. I am writing patterns. I am marketing on social media.

Balancing a Full Work at Home Job while Pregnant & 4 kids

Yes, the headline is a little intimidating isn't it? My name's Jaclyn and I'm a work at home mother of 4. I'm currently expecting and due this August with baby #5. I've written this post to introduce myself, my background and what I want to bring to you on Working Mother.

I started blogging professional in late 2009 when I realized it was a new trend for working at home mothers. When I realized the hpye on mom blogging, I decided I'd join in. I want to discuss my background and why I'm blogging on Working Mother.
