I guess it’s inevitable that with Father’s Day looming, publications, parenting blogs and TV shows will focus on Dad’s contribution to raising his kids. What strikes me, though, is the recycling of all the old info about fathers and then the resulting spin—most of which tells us nothing new and some of which is downright lame.

Breastfeeding your child in any manner in a public space, anywhere outside your home, is now a crime. A new public nudity ordinance states that a woman will be charged if she bares her breast to feed her child.

Who would have ever guessed this insanity?

Of course as we continue to try to tell the world that Georgia is not a backward state, or a third world country, the state legislatures pass this archaic misogynistic law.

Father’s Day is a weekend away, and I’m not only thinking about my husband and the kind of father he is, but also about my own dad (who died many years ago) and what it was like growing up with his parenting style.
