Burger King
Burger King employees can apply for $5,250 to $10,000 in annual reimbursements for college courses; some schools even offer corporate discounts.
Finding the right mentor at the right moment in your career can change everything. This fast-food giant strives to discover the perfect match for its corporate multicultural women. Candidates are interviewed at length about their personal and professional goals by volunteers from the Women’s Leadership Forum before mentors are assigned to them. Networking opportunities with industry leaders, also arranged through the forum, give them access to larger circles of influence and allow them to make important connections. Female analysts and technical leads in IT and finance can opt to broaden their work experience by signing up for programs that enable them to take on new assignments for several months to a year. In restaurants, dedicated leadership programs usher assistant managers up the ladder to company business managers. Twice a year, Chairman and CEO John Chidsey holds a meeting of the Diversity Action Council, which collaborates on a business strategy for hiring and retaining diverse employees. To make sure everyone is meeting annual diversity goals, the Inclusion Steering Committee reviews progress every six weeks.
