My third holiday season as a mommy is upon me, and for the third year in a row I am rejoicing in my having the best fashion friend that a girl could ever have. Our complimentary outfits give me a sense of peace during this busy time of year. My daughter and I attended our local Italian American Society's Annual Children's Christmas party wearing shades of red, grey and navy. Our excitement for fashion usually spills over to the other girls whom we know. Annie keeps careful watch over her pre-school teachers’ coordinated eye-makeup, and is starting to come up with her own original compliments. This summer, when Annie had just turned two, she often merely parroted me as I encouraged other athletes and fellow-gym goers. For example, Annie cheered “go number forty-four” at a New London road race long after number forty-four crossed the finish line, because she had heard me yell to this runner. A few weeks ago she told the cashier at Whole Foods “I like your sparkly sweater” before I had the chance to notice the clerk’s cute holiday outfit. Annie was given this adorable red and grey dress second-hand, which I paired with grey suede boots and blue and grey sparkle tights, both purchased at the Marshall’s Megastore on the Silas Dean Highway in Wethersfield, CT. If you don’t have time to hit the department or discount stores, you can at least purchase my red “Splendid” top at www.barenecessities.com and the dark, demi-curve Levi’s skinny jeans that match my daughter’s sparkly, navy tights at www.levis.com. May your nails go unchipped and your stockings, mascara and tears go un-run! Wishing everyone a little fun fashion and beauty break this holiday season!

Incredible story there. What
