By Melissa Moraja

I am the founder and President of Melissa Productions, Inc. (www.melissaproductions.com), an author of seven children’s books and three self-help books, and a crazy busy mom of four active young children (9 year old boy, 8 year old boy/girl twins and a one year old), with my twin daughter recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

If you add a little Bewitched, a dash of The Addams Family, a hint of The Waltons, and a mound of The Griswolds (National Lampoon Vacation), you get my working mother life! I hope you enjoy my humorous family moments, lessons learned and lots of insane working mom advice and tips that actually work!

I really look forward to my Friday nights. It’s when I can curl up on the sofa with a nice glass of wine and my hubby snuggled close, watching a movie we rented. Sometimes we even make it into a family night, where the kids join us with a fun snack. It’s the one nig ... Read more...
I’ve been reading this book called Promoting Executive Function in the Classroom by Lynn Meltzer. It’s not a fun read, but it does have some pretty good tips. Especially on how to boost your child’s memory recall. As a parent of three elementary age kids, I ... Read more...
When I became a teenager, my mom realized that she needed to be more involved and accessible for my three sisters and I, so she sold her beauty salon in a town about 20 minutes from our house and opened another right in our home. It gave her the flexibility to be ab ... Read more...
When I became a parent, I made a promise to myself that my kids would be kids, playing outside daily and enjoying the messiness that comes with it. But then came the day when I found out my oldest son, Jake, was accepted into an accelerated fourth grade learn ... Read more...
Every child, no matter what age, should have goals. And yesterday, my fourth grade son reminded me of that. My son mentioned to me that he had a class assignment where he needed to come up with a goal that he could achieve by the end of the school year. As s ... Read more...
“Stop bullying my kid!” are words I never thought I would say. Especially since three (out of four) of my children are only elementary school age. But I have. And with saying those words, I experienced a great sense of worry for my children’s safety. The firs ... Read more...
