Attend An Entire Conference About Returning to Work!

Imagine an ENTIRE conference dedicated to serving individuals who are reentering the workforce.  Imagine an ENTIRE conference focused on issues that pertain SOLELY to renetering the workforce.  Imagine an ENTIRE conference geared towards making these people SUCCESSFUL!

The Connect•Work•Thrive Conference, hosted by Refresh Your Career, LLC, is the first of its kind to be held in Silicon Valley – geared specifically to assist those eager to reenter the workforce after a career break.  And, there will be employers there ready to network with you.  Participants will be able to :

 1. identify & effectively communicate your areas of strength

2. determine and connect with resources you need 3. learn successful return-to-work strategies and tactics 4. connect with employers ready to hire

They are offering an exciting array of speakers, facilitators, and interactive workshops (including me!).   I will be talking about pay because I can show women (and men) how to think about pay.  How should you, as a job seeker, evaluate compensation? My biggest pet peeve: When people think they need to take a pay cut.  Learn how to keep from underestimating the market value of your role and undervaluing your contributions when returning to the workforce. Avoid common compensation valuation pitfalls, such as thinking it will take time to “get up to speed.”

My topics include:

  • How to determine the appropriate market value (base salary) of a targeted role
  • How to consider previous roles and contributions when developing and articulating a desired salary range for prospective employers
  • How to present the desired salary to prospective employers in light of market values and past contributions

There will be other critical topics too:

1. Networking

2. Marketing

3. Career path assessment and approach

4. Succeeding in  new role.
