Whole Foods in the City of Detroit

It's a great day in the city of Detroit !

Those of you who know me know that my favorite market (by far) is Whole Foods.  I was just there an hour ago.  I came home with produce, peonies, Kombucha and vitamins.  I have been a Whole Foods shopper since my son was born and I lived in Chicago.  Back in 1998 there was one Whole Foods in Chicago.  Today there are six.

I get a kick out of visiting Whole Foods stores in different cities.  I like to see how they are different than my local store and what they have to offer.  I enjoy this, despite the merciless teasing I have to endure from my family.  I waited patiently, for what felt like years, for Whole Foods to open down the road from my parent's place in Naples, Florida.  It was worth the wait.  You can buy a wheat grass shot right when you walk through the door ! I found the Whole Foods in South Beach when we were there in April.  Sadly, no one would let me out of the car to go check it out.  Next time.....

Prior to today there were five Whole Foods stores in Michigan. Soon there will be six.  Whole Foods broke ground this morning for a store in the midtown area in the city of DETROIT. See the article below:

Hooray for Whole Foods and hooray for Detroit.  There are so many negative things being said about the D all the time.  There is nothing negative about this.  Thank you Whole Foods for investing in the people of the city of Detroit.

Even though ground was just broken this morning, I am going to drive by and check out the location when I am nearby for a lunch meeting next week.  It won't be as interesting as checking out a new store, but I still can't wait. Once the new Whole Foods is built, I can have my lunch meeting in the cafe there.

Whole Foods, will you consider the wheat grass shots, please ?
