Can we ever really relax?
Well, I tried.
In late August, I bought myself an under desk foot massage machine to celebrate the accomplishment of our youngest set of twins starting Kindergarten. I'd been eyeing it for months & finally just splurged.
On Labor Day, I took the kids to the local pool and did my first cannonball in probably 20+ years. For those of you who don’t know what a cannonball is (does anyone not know what a cannonball is?), it’s a jump into the pool holding both knees to chest and making a big boom.
Well, I made a big boom alright. As my found children applauded with sparkling eyes at their super cool mom, my feet (horrifically) scraped the bottom of the pool. Let’s just use the English phrase “bloody mess” – a mess that I should have gotten sutures for and didn’t. Bandages, flip flops, limping – infection – antibiotics – and about a month later I’m back to normal.
My first day back in the foot massage machine was simply awesome.
And on the following day, I stubbed my toe AND BROKE IT!
Thought that’d give you a little chuckle. Can we ever really relax?!
