I’ve been writing this blog and keeping to my new plan for six months now, and I’ve got to say it’s going great. But let’s be honest – six months is a long time. So long, in fact, that I’m going to fully admit to getting a little distracted.
That said, I haven’t gained any weight – and if you’re at all like me, you’ll know that counts as a win. But I have lost focus and I know why.
In NYC, June is the final month of school, so my family is stumbling to the end the school year, while also dealing with half days and work travel, as well as end-of-the-year parties and performances. Meanwhile, we’re also preparing for summer camp and our annual family vacation coming up.
Even so, I’m not looking for excuses (hence, the name of this blog!). I have made real changes to how I eat and move, which is why I’m maintaining my weight. My goal right now is to hold steady, get through the month, relax on vacation, then come raring back for the second half of the year.
I have lost weight that I never want to see again. My clothes feel looser, my knees feel better and I’m happy with my progress so far. I look forward to getting my focus back for the second half of the year!
