First, so sorry for the radio silence. I’ve been traveling a lot lately and something had to give. But if you’ll forgive me for that, I’ll give you the good news: I’ve hit the 25-pound mark!
I’ll be honest (when am I not?!), I am completely thrilled with that number, especially considering how much I’ve been traveling. It hasn’t been a straight line of weight loss—some weeks are better than others—but I’m trying to think like a skinny person and adjust when I go off the rails – and then reset the GPS to get back on the right track right then and there. It seems to be working – and I seem to be beating myself up a lot less for my mistakes.
My clothes are fitting better, my colleagues are noticing and my kids still think I’m properly snuggable (um, thanks, kids?). But I feel good that the momentum continues – and I know it’s all do to having started on this journey publically. So thank you for following along!
In my other big news, I’ve given up my beloved Starbucks venti skim chai latte (hot or iced!) and I don’t really miss it (or the 300 calories that go along with it!). I can’t believe that I can say that now! That said, I have been binging too much on my old crutch, Diet Coke, as a substitute.
So my new challenge to myself now is to drop the Diet Coke. I need to start drinking more water (of course!) and this is my step in that direction. We’ll see how that goes!
Step by step, getting a little healthier every day. For everyone following me on this journey, a lot of little steps really can add up!
Until next time.
