Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

No more "I can't" or "I'm not sure I can do it" or "I'm not talented enough" or "I'm afraid" in my house. Anyone and everyone can do whatever they want if they put their mind to it. But the first step is having the right mindset.

This school year is going to be one of the most positive years in my children's and my life. And the way we're going to make that happen is by creating and saying affirmations daily.

Affirmations are an amazing tool. And it's so simple to start. All you need to do is create positive statements, write those statements on a piece of paper like a sticky note (post-it note) and then say those statements at least three times every day. In doing so, you'll find that it brings about positive change in your thought process, belief system, and life. And when life gets you down, these simple, positive words can truly make a difference.

Below are some affirmations to help you get started. The key to using affirmations is to recite them repeatedly on a daily basis. This allows the affirmation to be absorbed into your subconscious mind. And within a short period of time, you will notice changes in your attitude towards life.

Also, when creating an affirmation, it’s important to keep the following in mind.

  1. Use “I” statements such as “I am confident” and “I am happy.”
  2. Keep them positive.
  3. Use the present tense such as using the words “today” and “now.”
  4. Write them down.  I write affirmations on sticky notes and stick them every where in my house. I put them on my bathroom mirror, my computer screen, and sometimes even make a calendar notice so an affirmation pops up randomly one day. Seeing those words daily has truly lifted my spirits and even has motivated me.
