As a busy mom of a baby boy I’m always on the look out for great new products to make my life easier or make my baby happier.
Both of my boys were very colicky during their first 3 months. Hours and hours were spent massaging their tummies, bicycling their legs, giving them warm baths, holding them like footballs, praying the crying would stop.
I just came across a product that I have to share with you. The award-winning ColicCradler was invented by Laura Pilcher and is an amazing new infant seat designed to mimic the colic cradle hold I’ve come to know so well. It features an automated massager that gently applies pressure on the baby’s tummy while allowing mom or dad to put the baby down in the comfy seat. The colic cradle hold alleviates pain associated with colic by putting mild pressure on baby’s belly, usually by placing your fingers on baby’s tummy and thumb on baby’s backside. You use your other hand to brace baby’s chest, which is a difficult hold to do for an extended period of time. Certainly no good for a parent who has other kids running around the house!
The ColicCradler seat is fully adjustable and features a zip-out carrier so you can still be hands-free while keeping your baby close and your baby will continue to get relief from colic pain while you’re able to do other things.
Another great product I recently discovered is the Bobee Diaper and Wipe Dispenser, invented by Stacy Harfert. Do you know that your baby will use more than 2,000 diapers in the first year alone? That’s a lot of time spent at the changing table.
As a new mom, Stacy had her hands full and limited space in her baby’s room. Every surface, it seemed, was taken up by something. She had the need for a wall-mounted wipes dispenser and couldn’t find one, so created one herself! With the Bobee Dispenser, you can grab a wet wipe or diaper with one hand and comfort your baby on the changing table with the other. What mom wouldn’t appreciate that?
Both Laura and Stacy are winners of the 2011 Huggies MomInspired Grant Program. Huggies is now accepting applications for the 2012 Huggies MomInspired Grant Program, but ACT NOW! Applications are due by JULY 31st!
