All of us mamas have some products we couldn’t live without. Things that make our lives easier, better or that are just plain cool.
For example, I can’t imagine having two little ones and not having disposable diapers (sorry to all you cloth diapering mamas) or for that matter, not having overnight diapers! Seriously, overnight diapers how I love thee! Anyone who has had to break his or her back trying to get the crib mattress out every morning to change a wet sheet yet again will understand. Overnight diapers rock.
And I couldn’t function without my video baby monitor (although I would probably be much more rested because sometimes I just lay there staring at it). It has failed me a few times and I had insane anxiety going through the night without it (I know I’m sick). But I find comfort in watching my babies sleep and love that I know their sleep habits. It puts me at ease to be able to watch them throughout the night and know that they are okay, resting safely in their crib/bed.
There are a few mom inventors I’ve heard of recently that just amaze me. One I’d like to personally thank is the inventor of the Nap Nanny, Leslie Gudel, a TV sports anchor and mom of a baby girl. The Nap Nanny is an innovative foam wedge that is designed for babies who don’t like to sleep flat. This product is GENIUS for those of us whose babies suffer from reflux. My first son would scream and scream in his crib for hours on end. We tried a crib wedge and then a sleep positioner, but nothing did the trick. Out of desperation, we let him sleep in his car seat next to our bed for 3 months because it was the only way he’d sleep. Fast forward to son #2 who also suffers from reflux and is a horrible spitter—he slept in the Nap Nanny for 3 months next to our bed and he was a much happier baby.
