It has been one chaotic few months! After a few months of looking at houses (and putting a few offers out there), we found our house. It's perfect for us and I'm so glad we waited. I completely believe in fate, and this house was meant to be ours. It needs some work but we're up to the challenge.
So after a few weeks of escrow, we got the keys right before Labor Day and we've been going non-stop since.
Moving is always a pain, but throw the 2 1/2 year old in, and it just sucks. Plus, we had our scheduled vacation (to see the in-laws for their 50th anniversary) and a bridal shower for one of my best friends.
My initial idea -- with having some nice layover time at our old house -- was that we'd have a nice, organized move. I'm not sure why I thought that. The complete opposite happened. It was my worse move ever. Unorganized, messy, and well, chaotic. Typical.
The worst part? We were with family for over 3 1/2 weeks! Nonstop. First, with the inlaws on vacation, then we get home and my mom and brother are visiting to help us. Don't get me wrong, we couldn't have done the move without them. But, after a few weeks of not having any normalcy or even privacy, we were on edge.
it's been 2 weeks since my mom and brothers departure, and we are just now finally getting settled and back into our routine. Unpacking continues to be a challenge. You get home from work, get dinner made, child in bed, and it's now 9 pm. The last thing I want to do is unload a box. So, I still can't find things, but I'm sure they'll be found within the next year or so.
So our chaotic life continues. Now the next chapter of us trying to do things ourselves begins. I'm sure this will give me many topics for this blog...
