With work (career), two girls, a dog, activities, a husband... there never seems to be enough time in the day.  I'm in my early 40s and have two daughers (9 and 6). I've worked the whole way in the professional services environment (consulting). My mantra - you can't manage the chaos just have to live in it. I'd focus on balance, humor and staying sane in the craziness.
