
I recently read an article featuring celebrity moms like Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Angelina Jolie who drank herbal teas for it’s many nutritional benefits and it made me pause. When I recovered from my momentary mental break, I realized that celebrities held the key to success when it came to great health. They have access to some of the top health professionals, nutritionists, fitness experts, and culinary chefs in the world. So, I figured us not-so famous moms could glean a bit of knowledge from them as well.
Since these Starlets seem to have the inside Hollywood scoop on health and wellness I decided to delve deeper into the nutritional benefits of herbal teas, and share some of the many advantages with the rest of you All-Star moms.
First, it should be noted that herbal tea is a decaffeinated beverage. Second, it’s not made from the leaves of a tea bush like traditional teas. It’s an herbal infusion, or tisane, made of certain dried leaves, pieces of ripe fruits, seeds, roots or other botanicals extracted in hot water. This lovely beverage is then made from steeping or boiling herbs into a nice digestible form. For best health results, use organic selections and avoid teas with any artificial ingredients.
