Food and Fitness 4 Real

By Stephanie Suire

As a full-time working mom of two young children, I know the difficulties of finding time for a workout or to cook a healthy meal. Trying to balance it all can be frustrating and overwhelming.  Finally, I got fed up with being too tired to work out or feeling bad about ordering pizza for dinner every week.  I realized that I had to start somewhere, so I decided to start making small, healthy choices every day.  I started my blog as a way to share the unique challenges that working moms face, especially when trying to balance the demands of real life with healthy living.  I write about feeding my family real food, joining a local produce so-op, creating family friendly recipes, cooking with my kids, finding time for fitness, training for half marathons and being a role model for my children.

My hope is that Food and Fitness 4 Real will inspire real working mothers to start make healthy choices for their family, to find a little time for themselves and to have some fun in their everyday lives.

As a working mother, getting ready for work in the mornings can go one of two ways – 1) I get up, shower, get ready for work and leave the house before my husband or kids are awake or 2) one of the kids wake up while I am getting ready for work and all of my plans o ... Read more...
