Diva Mama

By Shira Adler

Diva Mama is more than a nickname on my license plate, it's a representative moniker of the two symbiotic yet disparate aspects of my life. Diva is to Mama as yin is to yang. Imagine, if you will, a cosmic kitchen where a little sign announces that the child-advocate-vegetarian-eco-Kosher-Goddess-mompreneur is trading in her apron for the day in order to explore the world's stage or at the very least, treat herself to a mani-pedi. I will tell you a secret. What keeps me going through my multi-tasking mompreneur mayhem as a self-employed writer/speaker, singer, cantor/interfaith minister, certified past life regressionist raising two "special needs" kids (including an Indigo child), is writing blogs while sneaking something from my secret stash of Lindt chocolate. Sound familiar? If you˙re like me, you are probably not doing enough to restore your chi, replenish your energy and nurture your inner diva (we all have one, you know, and who decided Diva is a bad four letter word anyway?). As working mothers have very unique ways of seeing the world, sharing our vision and making the world a sparklier place as only Divas can do! My blog then, is meant to support, activate, and inspire. Serving as a guide to staying connected, in touch and in flow, I take a fresh look at balancing life, love and laughter with everything else Divas must do to help YOU nurture and inspire your inner Diva.

As a new blogger for Working Mother I feel fortunate, because writing and communicating through my workshops, seminars and live appearances is what I love to do.  The other thing I love to do is parent, but sadly I question if I am always as good at parenting a ... Read more...
